A female resident of Thurston Drive was startled into a scream when she awakened to find a stranger clutching a flashlight in her bedroom at 10:30 p.m. last Tuesday night, police said.

The suspect fled when the woman howled, the report stated, and the woman immediately called 911 to report an intruder in her home.

Police said the suspect forced entry at the rear of the residence. At this time there are no items missing from the residence, police said.

The suspect is described as a large male, wearing dark clothing and a dark knit cap, according to police.

The incident is under investigation.
