Betsy Arizmand, 44, of Bridgeport was arrested for stealing $32,285 in cash and credit card transactions from her employer March 24 at 2 p.m.
Arizmand served as a health aid for an 81-year-old man on Main Street for three years. She had access to bank accounts and checks during that time.
The elderly victim's daughter began looking into his accounts from August 2010 and realized that Arizmand had been using the bank cards and checks for her own personal use. The total of $32,285 is the amount allegedly stolen from August to early this year when she was fired.
The family filed the official report with police Feb. 19. Police charged Arizmand with first-degree larceny, two counts of credit card theft, illegal use of a credit card, receiving goods and services obtained by use of a credit card and fraudulent use of an ATM.
She posted a $10,000 bond and is due in court on April 6.
