NEW CANAAN — It was a little damper than organizers hopes, but Saturday’s rain didn’t dampen the spirit of the 47th annual New Canaan Nature Center Fall Fair.

Hundreds of visitors turned out for a town tradition that featured carnival games and activities, food, crafts and a haunted Halloween trail. “It brings families here just to enjoy a fun day on our 40 acres,” said Marianne Kay, preschool director.

Kay said the weather isn’t as bad as it has been in some years past, “but it definitely puts a damper on things.”
