Walter Stewart's Market and New Canaan Bicycles have teamed up to sponsor a townwide cycling club.

The members will fly New Canaan's colors on local rides, as well as at charity events from Massachusetts to Iowa.

At the end of July, members will participate in the CT Challenge to help cancer survivors. More than 54,000 cancer survivors benefited from programs that were funded by the CT Challenge bike ride.

On Saturday, May 17, the club will host the annual Bike Rodeo, co-sponsored by the West School PTC. The rodeo focuses on the youngest cyclist in the family. Kids learn helpful skills to keep them safe on two wheels.

Lou Kozar, owner of New Canaan Bicycles, 96 Park St., said he sees a perfect partner in Walter Stewart's Market and the healthy lifestyle that cycling promotes.

Walter Stewart's Market, 229 Elm St., has been in business in New Canaan since 1907.
