New Canaan resident Michael W. Walsh has been named to the advisory board of iRent, a real estate marketplace.

Prior to Gridiron Capital, Walsh served in treasury and financial executive roles at Cadbury Schweppes.
“I’m excited to join this rapidly growing company. iRent is taking a unique approach to solving key industry problems,” Walsh said in a statement. “I look forward to helping them navigate the process of raising capital and to assist in developing a path to sustainable revenue and growth.”
iRent Founder and CEO Matthew B. Foster said, “Mike has joined us at a critical time. We’re growing both sides of our marketplace and gaining a lot of investor interest through sites like CrunchBase and Angel List. His influence will be important in helping us to select the right financial partners and in helping us scale our platform nationally.”
