Underage party host charged with alcohol possession

New Canaan police broke up an underage party on Gower Road Aug. 30 after receiving a noise complaint at about 10 p.m.
As an officer pulled up by the house where the party was taking place, a number of 16- to 18-year-olds were seen running from the house and scattering through the area, according to the report.
Inside the house, police found a 16-year-old girl, seven 17-year-old males, four 17-year-old females and an 18-year-old male, the report stated. Police also found a number of unopened bottles of Bud Light, Miller Light and malt liquor, as well as several empty bottles of different alcoholic beverages, according to the report.

The host of the party, a 17-year-old female, was issued an infraction for possession of alcohol by a minor. She told police her parents were out of state and she invited a few friends over but people "crashed the party," police said.
Parents were called to pick up the other teens, whom police did not see in possession of alcohol.
