The New Canaan High School Ram Council is hosting a community conversation about a fun, safe, alcohol- and substance-free summer for students at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, in the high school auditorium.
A panel of professionals led by a Superior Court Judge Richard F. Comerford Jr., in conjunction with Ram Council members, will roll out a plan for a safe summer in New Canaan and a grass-roots movement aimed at changing attitudes toward underage drinking.
The other panelists are New Canaan Police School Resource Officer Jason Kim, New Canaan Volunteer Ambulance Corps President Melanie Barnard and licensed alcohol and drug abuse counselor Joyce Sixsmith. The moderator is Matthew Maddox.
The RAM Council is a student-run and self-funded organization. A donation of $5 per adult and $10 per family is suggested. In exchange, donors will receive a RAM Council "What Do You Stand For" bracelet.
