Residents Kevin McMahon and Michael Glazer recently joined the board of Getabout, New Canaan's van service for seniors and those needing special assistance.

McMahon, a graduate of University of Pennsylvania and Georgetown University Law, is in private practice in New Canaan dealing with patent and technology-related law. He was a partner at Weil Gotshal Manges LLC for 18 years engaged in patent and technology-related litigation and counseling. Before that, he had been a partner at Davis Hoxie-Faithfull & Hapgood, a New York patent law firm, and chief patent counsel of Schlumberger Ltd., heading a 30-plus attorney department.

Originally from Rye, N.Y., he lives in New Canaan with his wife, Ellen, and is active in tutoring and mentoring high school students in Future 5, a Stamford-based nonprofit organization. He is a member of the Senior Men's Club in New Canaan.

Glazer and his wife, Jeannette, a retired teacher from East School, are 33-year residents of New Canaan. He has more than 30 years of business experience in sales, marketing, services and development, primarily within the information technology industry. He spent more than 20 years at IBM, starting as a field system engineer and rose to serve in several executive positions including director of systems services, regional general manager and director of new business development-services. He also spent 10 years providing leadership with two technology start-ups, International Data Operations and Carlyle Group LLC, as managing partner and chief sales and marketing officer.

He, too, is a member of the senior men's club, and past vice president of programming.
