Village Critter Outfitter is hosting two separate events this month as part of its ongoing series designed to educate pet owners in the New Canaan community.
Bully Breed Rescue will be at Village Critter Outfitter from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, to enlighten those interested about a new breed of rescue dog.
Bully Breed Rescue, a small rescue group located in New Canaan, is dedicated to rescuing and finding homes for dogs of the Bully Breed class. The goal is to help give these often-misunderstood dogs a second chance by placing them in forever homes. All of the dogs have been temperament tested.
On Tuesday, Jan. 29, from 6 to 7 p.m., Michele Wan of Westport Dogs will address how to handle puppies that mouth and chew endlessly.
Wan is a certified applied animal behaviorist, and has more than nine years of professional hands-on experience with dogs of various ages, sizes and breeds, as well as a formal education in animal learning and behavior from Columbia University.
"We are delighted to have both of these events at our store during the last week in January," said Shirleen Dubuque, owner of Village Critter Outfitter. "We see our mission as helping our customers make good choices for the wellness and happiness of their pets, and themselves, for that matter. Here's a chance to learn about Bully Breeds and get insight about from the leading animal behaviorist who is an expert in puppies."
