The New Canaan Democratic Town Committee nominated both of them to fill vacancies on the board.
Kucharczyk previously appointed as an alternate, and fills the vacancy created by the departure of Dan Ward.
Carroll has been appointed as an alternate member. Both appointees have experience in the financial industry and a background of service to the New Canaan community.
Kucharczyk has spent many years working for major accounting, capital management and computer companies providing cost analysis and reporting. He is employed by Cigna Corporation as senior director of supply chain management, and previously was with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, KPMG and Hewlett Packard. He was a member of the New Canaan Board of Education, first elected in 2000. Kucharczyk has also acted a president or board member of two New Canaan High School sports teams.
Carroll has spent many years engaged in high-level management positions as an analyst in municipal finance with several major investment companies. She is employed by Gates Capital as director of municipal research, and previously held analyst positions at Invesco/Morgan Stanley and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. The market sectors she has covered include health care, education, senior living, development districts, infrastructure and general government-backed bonds.
Carroll was a member of Waveny Committee to Examine the New Canaan Inn, New Canaan Committee to Evaluate Senior Housing Alternative and the New Canaan High School Girls Hockey Team. She has served as a co-chairman of the St. Mark's Church May Fair.
