More than $34,000 worth of jewelry and dinnerware were reported stolen from a Thayer Pond Road home, New Canaan Police said.

The 72-year-old complainant said he noticed several items of jewelry were missing on Sept. 1, but he then noticed other pieces, including a Rolex watch he wore on Sept. 3, missing a few days later, according to the report.

The complainant called police Sept. 10 to report that at least $34,000 worth of jewelry and sterling silver place settings, as well a 3-karat diamond ring of an unknown value, had been stolen, police said.

Among the items he and his wife are missing are a $7,500 David Yurman gold necklace, a $5,000 gold Rolex watch, a $4,000 stainless steel Rolex watch, $4,000 in sterling silver place settings, and several bracelets and earrings, according to police.

It is not clear whether the resident has had any workers at the house recently.
