Friday, July 3 (rain date Sunday) at Darien High School. The gates will open at 6:30 p.m. at the campus at 80 High School Lane, and parking passes are $25; walk-in admission is free.

The rain date for fireworks is Sunday, July 5.

Friday (rain date Sunday) at Greenwich Point and Binney Park.

Ridgefield High School

Picnicking starts at 6 p.m. Saturday on the high school’s upper and lower fields, with music provided by the Air National Guard Band of the Northeast, and the pyrotechnics will begin shortly after dusk.

A mini-triathlon at Weston Middle School on Saturday includes a pool swim, a closed-to-traffic bike ride and a run on fields and sidewalks. There will be live music, including Ticket to Ride: A Tribute to the Beatles band, and fireworks at 9:20 p.m.

Before the fireworks on Saturday, there’s a daylong celebration that starts with the Freedom Run Road Race (5K), continuing with the Republicans vs. Democrats softball game, live music and fireworks at 9:30 p.m., followed by music from Eight to the Bar. www.wiltonct.org

Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular has fireworks lighting up the sky along the East River on Manhattan’s East Side — from 23rd Street to 42nd Street on the holiday.

Rye, N.Y.

Playland Amusement Park has a July 4 celebration, as well as fireworks show choreographed to music every Wednesday and Friday in July and August. www.ryeplayland.org
