A 17-year-old New Canaan girl was issued a juvenile summons April 11 for possession of less than half an ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

An officer who was on routine patrol on New Norwalk Road, near Lakeview Avenue, at 9 p.m. noticed a vehicle driving over the double yellow lines, police said. The officer pulled the car over and approached the driver, who "appeared extremely nervous," according to the report.

The officer saw a pack of cigarettes in the car and asked the driver for it, police said. When the teen handed him the cigarettes, the officer saw what appeared to be loose marijuana on top of the central armrest, according to police. Upon further searching the vehicle, the officer found a multicolored glass pipe, a metal grinder and rolling papers, police said.

The teen, who also received a verbal warning for failure to drive right, was released to her parents at the scene.

She's scheduled to appear in juvenile court in Stamford April 22.
