Teen allegedly shoplifted sunglasses from gas station

NEW CANAAN — A 14-year-old New Canaan boy was issued a summons for sixth-degree larceny after allegedly taking a pair of sunglasses from a gas station.
On July 27 around 3:30 p.m., the teenager went to the Mobil Station on South Avenue and bought two items. The teen then tried to leave the store with a pair of $10 sunglasses he didn’t purchase. Police were called and responded to the store where the teen was waiting.
The teen was issued a juvenile summons for sixth-degree larceny and released into the custody of his parents.
