On Saturday, April 2, more than 40 runners and walkers from Grace Community Church will participate in World Vision's 13.1 half marathon in New York.

The race takes place within Flushing Meadows Corona Park, and there will be 300 to 400 runners from the New York metropolitan area; 75 percent of which are first-time participants. Proceeds from the race will go to support and sponsor children and orphans in Rwanda.

World Vision is a Christian non-profit organization whose aim is to tackle poverty and injustice worldwide in an effort to help children and their families reach their full potential.

Those who signed up from Grace Community Church are looking forward to a fun, community-building event while helping others at the same time.
