The Norwalk Hospital Sleep Disorder Center is sponsoring its second sleep apnea support group for children on Saturday, Nov. 3, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. in the Patio Room on the fifth floor of the hospital.
The topic is "The Big Yawn: How Sleepiness Can Affect All Areas of Your Child's Life," and the featured speaker is Dr. Lewis Kass, director of pediatric sleep medicine at Norwalk Hospital.
The free educational event for parents will also include face-painting and drawing activities for children.
Children are encouraged to bring their CPAP masks for a fitting by experienced sleep technicians.
The program is being offered as part of AWAKE -- Alert, Well and Keeping Energetic -- of the American Sleep Apnea Association. AWAKE is a health awareness program offered for those who suffer with sleep apnea, as well as their family, friends and anyone else interested in learning more about sleep apnea.
