Middle school students from throughout lower Fairfield County will present one performance of “Legally Blonde Jr.” at Waveney Park at 4 p.m. July 24.
The students are members of the Junior Company of The Summer Theatre of New Canaan and have been rehearsing the show for three weeks. The company worked with the professional actors, creative and technical staff of the main stage professional production of “Legally Blonde, The Musical,” running through Aug. 9.
“This program is a great opportunity for young students to work in a fun, nurturing yet professional environment, training with theater artists to put on a fully produced musical,” Artistic Director Melody Libonati said in a statement.
The Junior Company performance is free and open to the public. Also, on weekends for children, The Summer Theatre of New Canaan presents performances of “Charlotte’s Web,” “The Wizard of Oz” and a new musical adaptation of “Cinderella.”
