In observance of National Spiritual Care Week Oct. 21 to 27, the Spiritual Care Department at Norwalk Hospital is hosting a community education program with guest speaker Dr. Harold Koenig, director and founder of the Center for Spirituality, Theology and Health at Duke University.

The program, "Better Health through Spirituality," will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the Richard S. Perkin Auditorium.

Koenig's talk will present important findings that demonstrate how spiritual beliefs and practices promote better health, happiness and longer life.

"This presentation is one of the highlights of the activities being held at Norwalk Hospital during Spiritual Care Week," the Rev. Debra K. A. Slade, director of the Department of Spiritual Care, said in a release. She added that Koenig is considered one of the world's top experts in spirituality and health.
