Entries for the Annual Juried Art Exhibition, "Spectrum 2013, sponsored by the New Canaan Society for the Arts and local businesses, will be accepted online and by CD until Thursday, March 28.
"Spectrum 2013," which will be exhibited in the Betty Barker Gallery at the Carriage Barn Arts Center, promotes original contemporary art, wrought by hand by area artists. The juried exhibition of original work only, no reproductions, includes all media except photography, completed within the past two years and not previously exhibited at the Carriage Barn.
A maximum of five works per artist will be accepted for a non-refundable fee of $20 for two and $30 for up to five for NCSA members and $35 for two and $45 for five for non-members.
The juror is Jill Deupi, founding director and chief curator of the Bellarmine Museum of Art at Fairfield University, who will select the work for the exhibition and designate prize winners in various media categories. Cash prizes donated by local businesses and patrons will be awarded.
The exhibition will run from April 26 to May 24. A prospectus, including detailed information about submissions with size limits, framing requirements and sculpture parameters, is available at www.carriagebarn.org or by calling 203-972-1895.
