A brother and sister, both 17, were charged with assault and disorderly conduct following a domestic dispute that involved knives and death threats, according to police.

Police responded to a report of the dispute at an East Avenue home at 12:38 a.m. Aug. 26.

The dispute became physical and the sister grabbed a knife and threatened her brother's life, police said, adding that both parties sustained minor injuries.

Both siblings were charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. The female was also charged with second-degree threatening.

The two were released on promises to appear in juvenile court Aug. 28.
