Chris Schipper will address the Senior Men's Club of New Canaan in Morrill Hall at St. Mark's Church at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, on the recent activities of the New Canaan Land Trust.

For the past year, the land trust's focus has been on raising awareness about the importance of open space, wildlife sanctuaries and the scenic beauty of New Canaan. Two properties have been opened for recreational access and programs are underway to improve overall stewardship.

Schipper is an international economics graduate from Georgetown. He worked for Chase Econometrics for five years covering European economies, international energy markets and currency exchanges.

He joined Bain & Co. in London and became a partner with a focus on retailing, information services and medical products, responsible for the firm's worldwide recruiting programs. Following Bain, he joined PepsiCo as a corporate vice president.

He subsequently joined Dell Computer Corporation and retired in 2002.

In 2012, he became president of the New Canaan Land Trust.

The Senior Men's Club of New Canaan is open for new members. Visit www.smcnc.org or call Membership Chairman Jerry Transue at 203-966-6050.
