New Canaan Library Executive Director Lisa Oldham will discuss the future of libraries at a meeting of the Senior Men's Club of New Canaan on Friday, May 16, at 10 a.m. in Morrill Hall at St. Mark's Church.

Oldham was born and educated in Rhinebeck, N.Y., and left for the United Kingdom after completion of her bachelor's degree. In 1990, she moved to New Zealand, where she began her library career.

From 1993 to 2006, Oldham lived as an expatriate in Guatemala, Sri Lanka, Mexico and Russia, working in libraries in all but Russia. During this time, she acquired a master's degree in library science.

Oldham returned to New Zealand from 2006 to 2013, and she worked in several libraries, including as the head of the reference department at Nelson City; libraries manager/director of the Tasman District; and development specialist at the National Library of New Zealand.

She arrived in New Canaan in July.

The Senior Men's Club is open for new members. Visit www.smcnc.org or call Jerry Transue at 203-966-6050.
