'Seaside Soiree' to benefit visiting nurses

Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County's Seaside Soiree will take place Sunday, April 27, at the waterfront home of Ann and Bill Scheffler at Stony Point, Westport, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The event, which raises funds to benefit the nonprofit agency's patients in need, will feature cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, a performance by jazz musician Chris Coogan, a silent auction and a giving tree.

The auction will include tickets to attend "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," tickets to see the New York Yankees play the Boston Red Sox, an outing on Long Island Sound aboard the Spirit of America, cooking classes at the Culinary Institute of America and tickets to a New England Patriots football game.

Members of the volunteer benefit committee are Carol Bauer, Donna Conway, Lila Griswold, Judy Higby, Janet Lebovitz, Ellen Lewis, Carlyn Tiefenthaler and Karen Wackerman.
