P.E.O. Chapter N of New Canaan has provided a Scholastic Talent Accomplishment Recognition Scholarship in the memory of Victoria Leigh Soto, a teacher who was killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in December 2012.
While Soto was not a member of the organization, P.E.O. wanted to honor her dedication to the safety of her students and her courage in the face of horror by providing a scholarship in her memory.
The recipient of the $2,500 is Fairfield Ludlowe High School graduate Meredith Doyle Stuhlman, who was recommended by P.E.O. Chapter AB of Fairfield. She is a student at University of Virginia at Charlottesville, studying nursing.
