NEW CANAAN — Police charged a 61-year-old Ridgefield woman with drunk driving after she allegedly drove through a red light in downtown New Canaan.
On May 22 around 1:25 a.m., a patrol officer saw a car go through a red light at the intersection of Main and Cherry streets. The officer spoke with the driver, Ann Ellsworth of Olcott Way, who appeared drunk. The officer searched the Ridgefield woman’s car and administered a field sobriety test, which she failed.
Ellsworth was charged with operating under the influence and failing to obey a control signal. She refused a test of her blood alcohol content. She was released on a $250 bond and will appear in court on June 1.
