The New Canaan Republican Town Committee has set Monday, Jan. 13, for a caucus to endorse 20 nominees for membership for 2014-16.
The caucus will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the New Canaan High School Auditorium.
"The town committee seeks members who wish to volunteer their time to help elect Republicans to office in local, state and federal elections," RTC Chairman James O'Hora said. "The committee runs an annual Lincoln Dinner with a prominent speaker each spring to raise funds to support its election activities each fall. The New Canaan RTC has a proud history of turning out the Republican vote each November to help elect solid Republican candidates for town, state and federal offices."
Registered Republicans residing in New Canaan who wish to petition to be endorsed for the two-year term must file on or before Friday, Dec. 13. The petition must be signed by at least 25 Republican electors living and voting in New Canaan. Petitions are available at www.newcanaanrepublicans.org. All petitions must be mailed only, postmarked no later than Dec. 13 and addressed to New Canaan Republican Town Committee, Attention: RTC Chairman, P.O. Box 42, New Canaan CT 06840.
