It's time to register for spring classes at the Lapham Center. The center's spring newsletter has been mailed to all active participants. Classes and other activities are open to all adult New Canaan residents.

Those wishing to take classes should enroll as soon as possible, because many classes fill quickly, Lapham Center officials said. Most registrations can be accomplished in person, by phone, online or by mail. Day trips and AARP driving classes must be paid by check.

Among program highlights is in Introduction to Qigong at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4. Bill Wrenn, a certified Qigong instructor who teaches at Lapham on Mondays at 11:30, will show a film about Qigong that includes interviews with master teachers and the scientific viewpoints of Chinese and American doctors. There is no fee. Reservations are requested.

Copies of the newsletter are available at the center or online at www.laphamcenter.org.

Seams like

a good idea

A seamstress is continuing to "Hem for a Cause" at Lapham Center. She will hem almost anything, after a fitting at Lapham, or do other sewing repairs. She charges the going rate for her sewing, but all payments are given to the New Canaan Food Pantry.
