Mitchell Queler, director of operations at Reynolds & Rowella, LLP, a New Canaan accounting firm with offices also in Ridgefield and Wilton, recently received the accredited administrator in accounting practice management designation.

Queler, who joined the firm in September 2010 as chief operating officer, is also a certified public accountant in New York.

Queler began his career with the accounting firm of Ernst & Young and became a CPA shortly afterwards. He joined Pepsico as controller of the corporate services group and later became director of internal audit for the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Greenwich. During the 1990s, he worked as chief financial officer for several agencies forming part of international marketing and advertising conglomerates such as WPP/Grey Global Group, Publicis Groupe S.A, and the Omnicom Group, all in New York City, returning to Westchester to lead his own company, and in 2008 joined SUNY Westchester Community College as executive director of the Faculty Student Association. He holds a master's degree in accounting from SUNY Albany.

The Association of Accounting Administrators was founded in 1984 to enable accounting firm administrators to better manage the business affairs of their respective offices. The AAAPM credentialing process requires demonstrated mastery in 12 core competencies covering an accounting firm's administrative functions and 40 hours of continuing education credits for each two-year period as a minimum recertification requirement. A national Practice Management Conference is held annually.
