Pryority announces special wellness event

Julie Pryor, founder of Pryority, has announced a three-day wellness event titled A Balancing Act. This event, which targets health conscious individuals of all ages, will run from Thursday, Oct. 20, to Saturday, Oct. 22. Showcasing fitness and wellness expert Scott Cole, all classes will be held at The Outback in New Canaan
"Scott is an inspiring individual and his personal philosophy of holistic health mirrors the Pryority model that I have established with my New Canaan clientele," Pryor said. "My mission for this event with Scott is to further educate New Canaan residents by introducing the integrative concept of wellness and fitness."
A Balancing Act has been created for individuals who want to learn more about the connection between mind, body and spirit and participate in the latest health and fitness classes including Tai Chi, Chi gong, yoga-inspired strength training and martial arts.
Cole has entertained audiences in 30 countries and hosted wellness weekends at Canyon Ranch, Lodge at Woodloch and Kripalu as well as run motivational sessions for Cisco and Northern Trust, Nike, Snapple and Zegna Sport. A former National Aerobic Champion, Star of Abs of steel and creator of the top-selling Discover Tai Chi DVD series, Cole has been featured on Live with Regis and Kelly, CNN Headline News, The Early Show and E!
Pryor is teaming up with The Outback, The Bank of New Canaan, Healthfare, Family Britches, Jump Start Coaching and the owners of New Balance to bring experts like Scott Cole to New Canaan to educate the community. Her mission is to introduce many of the cutting-edge health trends including a longevity lifestyle, restorative breath work and meditation.
A Balancing Act weekend will begin at The Outback with a nourishing kick-off breakfast and introduction of Scott Cole on Thursday morning, Oct. 20. There will be a choice of two to three classes each day and participants can choose to attend any or all of the classes. Pricing will run $20 a class, $50 for 3 classes and $100 for all 6. The 11 a.m. Tai Chi class on Friday will be a free class for seniors.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will be given to local charities including Staying Put in New Canaan.
