Pro Arte Singers celebrates its 38th season with its annual benefit on Saturday, Jan. 29 at the First Presbyterian Church of New Canaan, 178 Oenoke Ridge Road from 5:30 to 9:30 pm. The event will feature hors d'oeuvres, libations, raffles, a live auction and entertainment.

The combined groups will present a program of music from Gershwin's "Porgy and Bess" and more. Members of Pro Arte will be joined by alumni of the New Canaan High School Madrigal Singers, all under the direction of Pro Arte Music Director and longtime NCHS teacher Art Sjogren. With "Porgy," a Pro Arte audience favorite, on the program and Madrigal Alumni returning to help celebrate, "Back by Popular Demand" is the theme of the night.

Tickets are $125 each and include the full evening's events. For reservations or more information, or to make a tax-deductible auction donation, go to www.proartesingers.org to use an on-line registration and donation system, hosted by Events.org, or contact the Pro Arte Singers at 203-322-5970, or P.O. The Pro Arte Singers, distinguished as the region's only choral group composed entirely of professional singers, is a non-profit ensemble, supported in part by private contributions and public grants including one from the Connecticut Commission on Culture & Tourism.
