New Canaan Police received a 911 call from an employee at Henry Reid Jewelers, 72 Elm St., Tuesday at 2 p.m. claiming a man took off with a $30,000 Rolex watch.

The man entered the store and he asked to see a Daytona Rolex. The employee took the watch from the case and held it for the man to see. The man then grabbed the watch from the employee and ran out of the store. He was seen running east on Elm Street.

The watch features a 14-carat gold case and black leather band.

Police said the suspect is described as a dark-skinned male in his 30s, approximately 5-foot-10 with a medium build. He was dressed in a black hat, black vest, dark pants and black patent leather shoes.

New Canaan Police are reviewing surveillance footage.
