Emily B. Bak, 21, of 15 Seaside Court, Milford, was arrested July 4 on a charge of operating under the influence and failure to have headlights lit.

A New Canaan police officer driving south on South Avenue, near Woodland Road, at about 2:30 a.m. noticed the car behind him didn't have its headlights on, according to the report. The officer then turned around to pull the vehicle over and as he approached the driver, Bak, he observed that she looked intoxicated and there was an odor of alcohol coming from the car, police said.

The woman, who said she had been drinking at a friend's house in New Canaan, failed a field sobriety test and a Breathalyzer test, according to the report. Police would not say what Bak's exact blood alcohol level was, but they said it was about 1.5 times the legal .08 limit.

She posted $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in court July 18.
