"Leon and his team are such wonderful assets to our town," Kiwanis President Stacey Hafen said. "His talk at our annual membership luncheon provided insight on new Police Department initiatives, status of ongoing investigations, and plans for the future."
Krolikowski updated the audience on new Police Department initiatives, ongoing investigations and plans for the future. He also provided a trivia question-and-answer session such as:
How many police officers does New Canaan currently have on staff? (45)
How many traffic accidents occur in town each year? (More than 500)
How many burglaries happen in town annually? (15 to 20, down from hundreds 20 to 30 years ago)
He also discussed his plans to reopen the department's K-9 program. A K-9 program is an invaluable tool for deterring crime, finding missing persons, apprehending criminals, and curbing thefts, burglaries and vandalism, he said.
