Police are investigating the theft of a $276 designer Oasis bathing suit from Sole Toile on Tuesday, June 16, according to New Canaan Police Sgt. Carol Ogrinc.

A 42-year-old employee reported that at 2:41 p.m. on Tuesday a female came into the store and declined her offer of assistance, Ogrinc said. The woman left after about five minutes in the back of the store, Ogrinc said.

A police check of the area for the suspect was unsuccessful, Ogrinc said.

The suspect is described as a white female with blonde hair between ages 55 and 60, between 5-foot-10-inch and 6-feet tall, and heavyset, wearing sandals and shorts with a beige handbag, Ogrinc said.

Phone stolen

An iPhone 6 Plus valued at $900 was reported stolen from a construction site of a Lukes Wood Road home the afternoon of Wednesday, June 17, according to New Canaan Police Sgt. Carol Ogrinc.

The 38-year-old male complainant said he left the device charging that day around 10 a.m., and returned to find it gone, Ogrinc said.

Sunglasses taken

Police are investigating the larceny of a package delivered to a West Road residence containing a pair of sunglasses valued at $228, according to New Canaan Police Sgt. Carol Ogrinc.

The theft was reported at 5:27 p.m., Wednesday June 17, by a 41-year-old woman who lives there, Ogrinc said.

The woman verified that the package had arrived with the delivery company, and that it had been signed for by an unknown person, Ogrinc said.

iPad removed from trunk

An iPad was reported by a Hickok Road resident on Thursday, June 18, as having been stolen from an unlocked car the parking lot of the American Red Cross in New Canaan on Main Street the previous afternoon, New Canaan Police Sgt. Carol Ogrinc said.

The 66-year-old woman reported she believed the device was taken from her car between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. that Wednesday, Ogrinc said. The device is valued at $800, Ogrinc said.

Bikes stolen

A black Banshee Rune bicycle valued at $5,000 and a Special Roadbike valued at $1,500 were stolen from an unlocked shed at a North Wilton Road home between Saturday, June 13, and Tuesday, June 16, according to New Canaan Police Sgt. Carol Ogrinc.

The theft was reported by a 28-year-old male resident at 6:14 p.m. June 16, Ogrinc said.
