Police: New Haven man threatened to shoot someone at New Canaan facility

NEW CANAAN — A 36-year-old man was arrested near his New Haven home after he allegedly threatened to shoot someone at a residential treatment facility in New Canaan.
Staff at the facility called police Aug. 3 to report Sean Crowther, saying he threatened to shoot “someone” at the facility.
New Canaan police investigated and located Crowther near his home on Pond Lily Avenue in New Haven. New Haven police took Crowther into custody until New Canaan police could pick him up.
New Canaan police took Crowther into custody Aug. 4 around 9:30 p.m. and charged him with threatening in the second degree. He was held on a $75,000 bond, which he posted on Aug. 5 around 7:15 p.m., and is due in court Aug. 15.
While New Canaan police could not confirm the name of the facility, a police record from Aug. 3 showed a call coming in from Silver Hill Hospital around 5 p.m.
