A pocketbook containing at least $200 in cash, a $100 gift card and a credit card was reported stolen from Waveny Park July 21, New Canaan police said.

A woman and her boyfriend, who are both 26 years old, were taking pictures on the south side of Carriage Barn at about 9:45 a.m. when she sat her pocketbook near a curb, according to the report. The couple continued taking pictures in the area and after returning to retrieve the pocket book, it was no longer there, police said.

The woman said they were out of sight for about five minutes, according to police. The cash in the pocketbook, some $200 to $300, was hers and the cards were her boyfriend's, police said.

Police are investigating.
