The Pet Pantry Warehouse opened its newest store at 21 Grove St. on Nov. 3, with a "canine ribbon cutting."
The New Canaan opening continues the company's expansion with its fifth store. The 65-year-old, family-owned retailer specializes in pet supplies and foods, which focus on the health, wellness and nutritional benefits.
Adam Jacobson, company owner, said, "Our No. 1 goal is the health and wellness of each and every pet. Today, pets are viewed as an important member of each family, and just as the health, wellness and safety of all family members is important, the same is true for the family's pets."
In addition, each year the company teams up with animal rescue organizations to find safe and permanent homes for displaced animals in every community it serves. Its focus on animal health and responsible pet ownership earned the company recognition as the 2011 Pet Retailer of the Year in the pet supplies industry.
