The Performing Arts Conservatory of New Canaan will add new spring classes and programs for students and adults taught by established and well known entertainment industry professionals.

"We've added some very exciting and talented professional artists to our staff who are creating unique classes and learning opportunities for our students," Melody Libonati, director of the school, said.

The conservatory, now in its ninth year, recently moved into new professional performing arts facilities at 70 Pine Street in New Canaan and has built a theatre and voice, piano and dance studios. The school is now expanding its offerings with new spring classes in professionally taught improv, play and movie creation, and ballet for adults and high school students.

Alexandrea McHale will teach classes in actor improv. She is a stand-up comic, improv performer and actress. As a comic, she has performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Late Show and Comedy Central. She has headlined clubs and colleges in every state in the country and college students nationwide twice voted her "Female Entertainer of the Year." She will teach improv to elementary, middle school and high school students.

Ethan Matthews is the founder and artistic director of The BE Company, a professional actor, director and producer in New York City, acting instructor and an adjunct assistant professor of acting at CUNY LaGuardia. Matthews will teach "Script to Screen" classes for high school students who will learn the full process of movie making from writing, producing, shooting and editing their own movies, and "Collective Creation" classes in theatre where middle school students will create and perform their own plays.

Melissa Stuart will teach classes in ballet to high school students and adults. She was a Radio City Music Hall Rockette and has performed in the Radio City Christmas Spectaculars. Stuart also has performed in many regional theatres and has had an international tour.
