Park Street Singers to perform

The Park Street Singers will perform a diverse collection of songs at Park Street Congregational Church, 23 Park St., New Canaan, on May 11 at 1:30 p.m. The performance, which is free and open to the public. will be followed by refreshments.
This year's performance includes songs from the Big Band era, jazz greats, and two from the musical "Chicago." The annual event is a thank you gesture to the Church for providing rehearsal time as the singers prepare for their ongoing performances.
The Park Street Singers travel with director/accompanist Peter Randazzo throughout Fairfield County to entertain at senior centers and community organization functions. Members live in eight different towns in Fairfield County from Shelton to Greenwich and meet each week at the Park Street Church to rehearse.
The group was founded in 1973 when several women joined to perform a Mother's Day tribute for the Church. One of its original singers, Phyllis Linden, is still an active member. Their 1,000-plus performances include programs presented at The Woman's Club, 60-plus clubs, and AARP organizations.
