A 41-year-old Norwalk was charged with larceny Aug. 29 after she was accused of stealing cashmere sweaters from a New Canaan shop.
Lisa Mastronardi Sedlak, 41, of 71 Aiken St., Norwalk, was charged with fifth-degree larceny when police said video surveillance at She la la, an accessories boutique at 120 Main St., showed her taking the sweaters.
The shop owner was reviewing surveillance video when she noticed Sedlak take two $300 cashmere sweaters and a $30 sweater off the rack and put them in her bag at about 1 p.m. the prior day, according to the report.
Police said the suspect, who also made a purchase under $10 that day, was known to the cashier. With the employee's help, police identified and then contacted Sedlak on Aug. 29, according to police.
Sedlak turned herself in at noon and said she would return the sweaters, police said.
She was released on a promise to appear in court Sept. 11.
