The New Canaan Outback Teen Center is rolling out new programs for the fall.
The Outback provides fun social activities, enrichment classes and regular after-school drop-in time for kids in grades five to 12. During school hours, the Outback now opens its doors for adult wellness and enrichment programs.
After a successful spring and summer activities schedule, the Outback has expanded its programs in cooking, art, wellness and leadership. New this fall will be on-site math tutoring and an after-school program. Yoga and kickboxing classes are available to adults as well. Program brochures have been emailed home to all public middle and high school families.
"We are excited to be delivering these fall programs in cooperation with a number of very talented individuals," said Sangeeta Appel, president. "Parents and students will be delighted to have everyone back, including Neena Perez of Kiddie Kitchen; Joanna Pilar Garra, artist-illustrator; Larry Shiller of Shiller Math; Anthony Smetak of Kemp Academy; Julie Deery and Sarah Barrington, yoga instructors; and Jayne Benton of The Cupcake Party. In addition, Mark Taliercio will be on call for work in our state-of-the-art recording studio."
The Outback is open Monday through Thursday from 2 to 7 p.m., Friday from 2 to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.
