Taylor will perform the works of J.S. Bach made famous by the late concert virtuoso, Virgil Fox, and share personal anecdotes and memories of him.
He will perform on First Presbyterian's Aeolian-Skinner organ of 52 ranks comprising 2,861 pipes. The console and pedal board of the organ are visible to all, and children will especially enjoy watching the flying footwork of the performance.
Taylor is the music director at First Congregational Church in Ridgefield, where he serves as organist, choral director, music educator and concert series director. A composer of hymns and choral anthems, his music can be found in the hymnals of a wide variety of denominations.
Fox introduced an entire generation to the organ works of Bach through concerts that combined visual effects like laser lights with music in spectacular multimedia events.
The church's Coffee Concerts feature 30 minutes of music and conversation with complimentary gourmet coffee and biscotti. A donation will be accepted at the conclusion of the concert to benefit the New Covenant Soup Kitchen, one of First Presbyterian Church's outreach ministries. Child care for infants will be provided.
