Chavez's interest in nutrition began in 2002 when she read "Enter the Zone" by Barry Sears. For the first time in her life, nutrition made intellectual sense, but the metabolic rules of engagement were quite different from conventional wisdom. Following these unfamiliar guidelines helped her lose weight and improve her high cholesterol levels, low energy and arthritis. Her husband also lost weight and his allergies and asthma subsided. Her children were sick less often and appeared to be able to concentrate better.
Ten years later, she graduated with a Master of Science degree in human nutrition, passed her CNS credentialing exam and hung out her shingle. She specializes in guiding people with insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome and Type-2 diabetes back in the direction of good health. She also works with clients with high cholesterol, GERD, heart disease, arthritis, asthma, colitis, inflammatory bowel disease and cancer.
