Shane Barrese, 24, of Norwalk was arrested on marijuana-related charges at 9:45 p.m. on Dec. 31.

An officer pulled over Barrese on New Norwalk Road for excessive tints on the vehicle's windows and a blacked-out license plate.

According to the report, once Barrese saw that police dog Zira was also on the scene, he admitted to having drugs in the vehicle and produced a pipe and a container holding 1.5 grams of marijuana.

Barrese was charged with illegal possession of less than 4 ounces of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was released on a promise to appear in court on Jan. 20.
