While the rest of Connecticut is suffering crippling traffic jams and road issues, New Canaan has managed to stay crisis-free from this latest snow storm that has dropped approximately 12 inches of snow on residents.

"Things are going fairly well," Mose Saccary, superintendent of Operations for the Highway Department, said. "The guys did a great job. Our biggest challenge is to figure out where to put all the snow. Our mechanics jumped on any snags we had with our vehicles."

The fire and police department also reported no major issues around town. In fact, New Canaan was so quiet that the fire department was able to assist Norwalk with some of its challenges.

"The snow was really bad at around 3 a.m. last night," Saccary said. "You couldn't see out of the front windshield. There was probably about 2 inches [of snowfall] per hour."
