NEW CANAAN -- A New York man suffered minor injuries when the work van he was driving flipped over on it's roof while driving westbound on Wahackme Road this morning.

The 40-year-old man was found by police trapped inside the van laying on it's interior ceiling, officer Geoffrey Lambert said.

Responding officers broke a window and pulled him out of the van, Lambert said.

The man, who was driving to a nearby carpentry job, told police he was headed westbound when he hit a patch of ice and careened into a snowy embankment on the north side of the street, Lambert said.

The van then flipped onto it's roof.

Although the man was not complaining of injuries, he was taken by ambulance to Norwalk Hospital to be treated for a possible neck injury, Lambert said.
