This month, a new Sunday morning Hebrew school will open in New Canaan, with the goal to provide Jewish education to children in the community.
The Chabad Hebrew School is open to children ages 3 to 13, from all backgrounds. No synagogue membership or previous background in Jewish education is required.
The Hebrew School will begin with an open house on Sunday, Oct. 13, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
"Our vision is to have a Hebrew school where children don't want to miss a day," Hebrew School Director Michal Mendelow said. "They come in with a smile and leave humming a Hebrew song. We aim for the children to feel the warmth and spirit of Judaism and understand its importance in today's society."

The curriculum will focus on Jewish values, holidays, Hebrew language and Jewish history through crafts, storytelling, music, conversation, cooking and baking, and textual study.
In addition, there will be a Bar/Bat Mitzvah program, featuring an innovative, personalized approach to preparing children for their special milestones, according to a release.
The new Hebrew School is a program of Chabad of New Canaan.
