New Canaan artist Marianne Rothballer won second place in the watercolor category for "Reflections," the juried all-media exhibition at the Rowayton Arts Center.

The juror was Anne von Stuelpnagel, director of exhibitions at the Bruce Museum in Greenwich, who selected 83 works from 168 entries.

"I was impressed by the creativity and breadth of work RAC members submitted -- and that certainly did not make my work easy," she said. "The theme, `Reflections,' begs interpretations of the physical, historical and metaphysical and all are well represented in the exhibit. Several works stood out right away; narrowing them down to the winners was the hard part."
