New Canaan woman charged with DWI

Gail M. Fournier-Utschig, 45, of Cheese Spring Road was charged with driving while intoxicated April 26 at 2:32 p.m.
After receiving a call about an intoxicated driver near Cheese Spring Road, an officer observed a vehicle matching the description traveling very slowly on Canoe Hill Road. The officer followed the car for a while, and noticed the driver "favoring" the double yellow lines. After she turned onto Ludlowe Road, the officer pulled her over. He detected the odor of alcohol upon speaking to her and conducted various field sobriety tests.
Forunier-Utschig was charged with operating under the influence of alcohol, failure to drive right and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. She posted a $750 bond and will appear in court May 11.
