NEW CANAAN — Police took a 24-year-old New Canaan woman into custody after she allegedly struck another woman in the head with a wooden candlestick.
On April 22 around 8:35 p.m., police responded to a home on Canoe Hill Road on a report of an assault. Upon arrival, police found the distressed victim, who had blood on her forehead. The victim said Elizabeth Skae, who lives there, had become upset when she couldn’t find her wallet. Skae thought the victim had stolen the wallet and struck the victim in the head with a wooden candlestick out of rage.
After an investigation, police arrested Skae on charges of first-degree assault and disorderly conduct. She was held in lieu of a $20,000 bond ahead of a April 24 court date. The victim was brought to Stamford Hospital for the non-life-threatening laceration on her head.
Police said they will not release any more information or the condition of the victim due to this being a domestic matter.
